, July 1 (ANI): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday paid out a COVID-19 package of Rs 386 crore for landless farmers under KALIA “Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation” Scheme.According to the state federal government, 18 lakh signed up farmers will be taken advantage of the money and the plan will be directly transferred in their bank accounts.Under the help, each landless farmer would get additional Rs 1,000 apart from the installation under the KALIA scheme.Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “The farmers, laborers and everyday incomes warmers are the structure of our economy. We appreciate the sacrifices of the landless farmers behind all the successes of the agriculture sector.
” COVID has had a substantial result on the economy. It was the farming sector in the very first wave that saved our economy. The second wave of lockdowns has had a substantial effect on peoples earnings. That is why the state federal government has in fact exposed COVID packages for numerous categories of people like farmers, workers, street suppliers, dairy farmers and others,” he added.Under the KALIA plan, signed up farmers in the state get Rs 12,500 in three installments.
