Toughest Ride in a While

I was going to do some tough climbing on the “IBM hill” on Bernal roadway. I ended up taking the Coyote creek course all the way to its end at Tully road in San Jose, and lagged schedule so I left the hill out.

It was an excellent day for a trip, not too hot.

Now that Im done with my exercise stress test Ive selected to focus more on riding. I went out for 4 hours today, and covered just over 50 miles. The very first two hours were standing pedaling, and in the last hour I included a bunch of periods.

Going Through Hellyer Park I saw a lot of Canadian ex-pats at Cottonwood lake. These geese have really figured out theres plenty to consume around here and have in fact gotten too lazy to do their Canada to Mexico way of life, and simply hang out in this location.

My old low-end watch just recently passed away so I treated myself to a Garmin Forerunner. It has the good function of providing wrist-based heart rate usually, however if it notifications I have my heart rate strap on it couple with it rather. This was my extremely initially major trip tracking with the new watch. Im quite happy with it so far, I like how the display screen is individualized, so I have heart, date, and time rate on the watch face. You can also tailor what appear on the main screen throughout various activities, so I have speed, elapsed time, range, and heart rate for bike ride. I dont like to be sidetracked by tech when working out, I prefer to browse the results later on. But it is fantastic to be able to look at it every now and then, like “that was a difficult period, I question what my heart rate got to”.

I seemed like I was pushing quite tough the whole way particularly the really first 2 hours while standing, so I marvelled my normal HR was just 110.

Over to Coyote Creek Trail then out and back to the end at Tully Road. I had actually initially planned to loop over to the west side of the valley to climb the IBM hill en route back however was short on time so simply did out and back.

It has the great function of supplying wrist-based heart rate normally, but if it notices I have my heart rate strap on it sets with it instead. You can also tailor what appear on the primary screen during various activities, so I have speed, elapsed time, distance, and heart rate for bike flight.
